WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
David Simpson started working in the window industry at Skotskill Joinery in the early 90’s.
He started working in their factory in Kilbirnie and learned all aspects of the window and door manufacturing process. After working in the factory for a number of years David moved into the maintenance side of the business and was responsible for planning and overseeing maintenance works across the UK. This involved visiting housing developments to ensure that the products were supplied and fitted to the manufacturers strict quality assurance standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
David then moved onto the installation side and started working alongside “Other” David in 2004, working together as a team of three until 2012 when D. Simpson Windows and Doors was established.
Meet the team
We are a close-knit installation team of four with many years of experience on various projects. Before starting D Simpson Windows and Doors in 2012, David Simpson and “Other” David worked together for a national home improvement company since 2004. Scott joined our team in 2017, and Lenny began a three-year apprenticeship in Joinery at Ayr College, joining us in 2024.

Started 2013
David joined D. Simpson Windows and Doors in 2013 and has been an integral part of its growth and success ever since. With a strong dedication to quality and customer satisfaction, he continues to play a key role in delivering high quality window and door installations.
Scott
Started 2017
Scott joined D. Simpson Windows and Doors as a labourer in 2017 and has since become a key figure on the team. Known for his strong work ethic and dedication, Scott plays an important role in ensuring every project is completed to the highest standard.
Lenny
Started 2024
Lenny (David’s son) joined D. Simpson Windows and Doors in 2024 and is currently attending Ayr College, where he’s enrolled in a three-year joinery course. Despite being early in his career, Lenny has already demonstrated strong knowledge, skill, and a clear passion for the trade—proving he has what it takes to succeed in the industry.
